Summer Surf Group for Autism
The Olalla Center’s Walden Project is excited to offer a new, therapeutic program to help teens with Autism build skills around social interaction, sensory integration and sensory awareness. Each youth will have an individual therapist for ongoing therapy beyond the group program according to individual need.
The group activities will revolve around surfing, following models developed and used successfully in programs throughout the world.
Criteria: Youth must be a teenager with diagnosed Autism or Autistic “traits”. Youth must be able to swim and have transportation to one of the pickup/drop off locations or the park. Youth must be getting mental health services from The Olalla Center or another local mental health provider willing to work in conjunction with The Olalla Center.
